Yosuke Hayashi, head of Team Ninja, has confirmed that they’re already developing a portable version of the recently released Dead or Alive 5 which will be called Dead or Alive 5 Plus. The announcement was made on IGN’s official YouTube channel but precious little detail was released. Although, the Plus added to the title hints that new features might be added. What extra features or content that might be included is anyone’s guess. DLC released for the series has so far been limited to additional costumes for the game’s characters.

Dead or Alive 5 was released on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 last September. The game play picks up two years from where the previous game ended, with a new DOATEC Corporation holding another tournament. Aside from the Story Mode, DOA also has offline game modes like Time Attack, Survival, plus an online multiplayer mode. The game also has a new Power Blow feature that lets players force their adversary into Danger Zones.

Dead or Alive 5 Plus is set to be released early in 2013, but no specifics have been released yet.

Price for the new car technology was not yet divulged but word has it that Fiat 500e will debut first in FIAT Studios, California. The company advanced Fiat 500e’s capacity to run for around 80 miles. On regular use, 116 miles/gallon will be minimally used whereas highway use takes around 100 MPGe of pure battery power.

Indeed, Fiat 500e is something to look forward to as a new year’s wish list. Car technology innovation is getting better and better and 500e is a manifestation that battery and electrical operations among vehicles are more cost effective and environment friendly compared to fuel-powered wagons. Price is still a mystery.

The Surface with Windows 8 Pro will have the familiar design features of its predecessor which includes the VaporMG casing in dark titanium finish, dual 2×2 MIMO antennas made exclusively for Surface, and the kickstand.

Looking closely at the innards, the Surface Pro tablet features the next generation Core i5 processor from Intel for the much-desired graphics boost that will match its 16:9 ClearType display of 10.6 inches and full HD resolution of 1920×1080. The tablet is also packed with a full-sized USB port of 3.0. The Mini Display Port is capable of enhancing the external display to achieve an impressive resolution of 2560×1440. Moreover, the tablet’s support for the Surface Pen input is a great companion for all you note-taking geeks or document editing specialists who can take advantage of its Palm Block technology if your palm accidentally or maybe even intentionally touches the screen as you do some scribbling. After all, you wouldn’t want all your writings be put into waste just because your palm gets in the way.

Currently, the Surface with Windows 8 Pro will run those desktop applications that support Windows 7. You can use it as a full PC and as a tablet at the same time. Weighing at sub two pounds and no more than 14 millimeters in thickness, the Surface Pro tablet is designed to fulfill all your computing tasks in one compact yet powerful machine. Other notable specs include a RAM of 4GB, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, front and rear cameras both with 720p.

Though Microsoft has no exact date yet for the release, it is speculated that it will be released sometime in January 2013. The 64GB model is selling at $ 899 while the 128GB model will be at $ 999. The pricing may be expensive but given the specs which can be comparable with those of Ultrabooks’ and Apple’s 13” MacBook Air’s, it has a competitive advantage that shouldn’t be overlooked.

Today, a Taiwan-based daily newspaper, DigiTimes reports that shipments of the Google Nexus 7 are going to top 5 million units by the end of the year.

Earlier this month, we heard that soon after Google unveiled its Nexus 10, Nexus 4 along with 3G HSPA+ Nexus 7 and 32GB Nexus 7 editions, Asus announced that sales of Google Nexus 7 reached almost 1 million units per month. They also got a dramatic increase in Q3 tablet shipments, which jumped by nearly 200 percent over the second quarter. But at that time, both Google and Asus didn’t reveal specific sales figures for the device.

As vendors worldwide are placing orders for shipments to peak point in October and November for the big holiday sales beginning late-November, the sales remain high in this period. However, the Nexus 7 shipments are expected to remain high between the range of 700,000 and 1,000,000 units in December also.

The 16GB Nexus 7 is priced at US$ 199 and a 32GB version at US$ 249. The pricing of Google Nexus 7 is relatively low hence it brings tough competition to Apple’s iPad. The device is powered by 1.3GHz Nvidia Tegra 3quad-core processor with a 7-inch IPS display covered in “Scratch-resistant Corning glass” with 1280 X 800 pixels of resolution. Last week, Google also released Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update for this device.

Although the shipments of the Google Nexus 7 are going to 5 million units, last week, a Chinese mobile owner claimed that his Google Nexus 7 tablet caught fire with suffocating smoke in his room. Moreover, a report also claimed that during a drop test comparison of Apple’s iPad and Google’s Nexus 7 from around 4.5 feet high, iPad scored better.

We will let you know what the final sales figure will be reached at the end of the year.

Apple released a press announcement over the weekend, announcing that it had reached a global agreement with HTC to settle their patent dispute. The agreement results in a 10-year patent licensing agreement and a dismissal of all current lawsuits.

“HTC is pleased to have resolved its dispute with Apple, so HTC can focus on innovation instead of litigation,” said Peter Chou, CEO of HTC.

“We are glad to have reached a settlement with HTC,” said Tim Cook, CEO of Apple. “We will continue to stay laser focused on product innovation.”

The license extends to current and future patents held by both parties. The terms of the settlement are confidential.

Apple first brought action against HTC in March 2010, alleging that HTC had infringed on 20 iPhone related patents. HTC was a prominent Android device manufacturer at that time, and was also Google’s manufacturing partner for the Nexus One.

HTC filed a countersuit, alleging Apple had infringed on several of HTC’s patents with their Mac, iPhone, and iPad products.

The two-year long legal battle has resulted in product bans, and legal fees said to have topped the $ 100 million mark.
