Soda companies have been constantly on the move to innovate their product and overall brand to be on top of the food chain. We love to see new things and be surprised. Coca Cola knew this, and for that reason they keep on introducing new marketing campaigns to dazzle our senses and keep customers coming back for more.
The latest Diet Coke ad campaign is about the unveiling of the world’s thinnest vending machine called “The Slender Vender”. Just measuring less than one foot thick, the Slender Vender can fit in odd places you could imagine such as, bowling alleys, beauty salons, between treadmills at the gym and even at pedestrian sidewalks! The video below says it all. Check it out.
Coca Cola collaborated with Ogilvy & Mather of Paris to bring forth the sexy vending machine. the company advertises the Slender Vender on YouTube with the phrase: “Diet Coke fits beautifully into one’s lifestyle — and so does its Slender Vender“. The ad is a tangible statement that targets the psychological perception of consumers. The vending machine instantly reflects Diet Coke without even looking at the actual product. Certainly a brilliant idea from a company that has thrived for more than a century.

Many smartphones in the market have been fighting for the spot of being called the thinnest phone ever, but in this race we have found out the real winner. Huawei Ascend P6-U06 has been termed as the thinnest smartphone ever built in the world. The …
If you’re one of those who want their laptops to be so thin and light, then you may be interested to know that there’s actually one of its kind from Inhon, a Taiwanese computer making company. Now dubbed as the world’s thinnest and lightest, the new Blade 13 Carbon weighs a mere 870 grams and occupies only 10.7mm of space when it comes to thickness.
These measurements are enough to topple down Apple’s MacBook Air which has 1.35kg of weight and 17mm of thickness. Still not convinced? The new laptop from Inhon is lighter by 5g when compared with NEC’s LaVie Z that weighs 875g and it’s also thinner by 2mm when compared with NEC’s Lavie X which measures 12.8mm.
The Inhon Blade 13 Carbon is packed with impressive specs all crammed inside its thin and light body. It features a CPU of either Core i5 or i7, full HD 1080p screen of 13 inches, SSD of either 128GB or 256GB, RAM of 4GB, and Windows 8 OS.
Pricing however is not as ‘thin’ as customers hope it would be. The super ultraportable laptop sells at $ 1350 and will start shipping in Taiwan in June. There’s no sign that the Blade 13 Carbon is arriving in US shores though its thin and light features are enough to make MacBook Air loyalists feel a little regretful.
This era speaks ‘thinner is better’, for electronics that is. Even wrist watches go along with the trend. At CES, a record breaking product made by Central Standard Timing and E Ink was made public for everyone, or CES attendees in this case, to see the product physically. This product which goes by the name CST-01 is said to be the thinnest watch to date.
CST-01 boasts a thickness of only 0.8mm which is the thinnest of its kind. The watch has an unorthodox design, which is worn just like a bangle. It’s mainly made up of stainless steel making the body of the whole watch. What also makes up the device are thin and flexible components that are put together by laminating them into a 0.5mm unit. This unit will then be photochemically etched into a single piece of flexible stainless steel.
The watch does not have buttons on it. But time format, either 12-hour or 24-hour, can be adjusted through its external dock. What powers it is a micro-energy cell embedded in the watch. Power is said to last for a month, but will have its energy back through a 10-minute charge which is done via its base station. It is incredibly light at just 12 grams of weight.
CST-01 is still up in Kickstarter for funding with a goal of $ 200,000 and pre-orders are also now available at a price of $ 129 each. So they got right now are just prototypes, meaning, the product may still undergo modification in its design. But the makers say that they will be keeping the watch under 1 mm thick, regardless of any alteration they will be doing with the product.
CST-01 comes in black or white, and $ 129 orders will be shipped September this year.
