While many are still disappointed over the specs announced for the upcoming Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 its 8-inch variant has leaked on FCC’s database.

Known as the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0, the leaked Samsung device spotted at FCC bears the model number SM-T310. If you remember, the 7-inch configuration has the code SM-T210 which is why many pundits concluded that it is indeed the 8-inch version of the Galaxy Tab 3.

Another information was discovered across the GLBenchmark results with model number SM-T311. The Dutch website TechTastic is convinced that it is the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 slate, as well. Of course, we couldn’t verify the authenticity of these claims but it’s noteworthy to see the technical attributes recovered.

According to the online benchmark, the tablet has an 8-inch WXVGA touch screen panel, 1280 x 800 resolution, dual-core 1.5GHz Exynos 4412 processor, 2GB RAM, ARM Mali-400 GPU, the latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with TouchWiz UI and an on-board 4,500mAh battery unit. Additionally, the leaked SM-T310 slate posted a 9-inch diagonal frame, 16GB internal storage, Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity. Whether these 2 models pertains to one tablet device or different product family remains to be discovered.

Olympus E-PL6: Official Price Without US Release

Along with the recently leaked PEN E-P5, camera manufacturer Olympus plans to release another model on the same niche, the PEN Lite E-PL6.

The forthcoming Micro Four Thirds shooter shares some of the features on E-P5 but with better price tag. It is a mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera boasting 16 megapixel sensor, 3-inch tiltable capacitive touchscreen display with 460K dpi, SDHC/SDXC card support, TruePic VI engine and fast focusing feature are some of the notable attributes you can expect on the E-PL6. But unlike the E-P5, the E-PL6 doesn’t have WiFi connectivity or the 5-axis stabilization capability.

There is now a growing demand for compact mirrorless cameras and Olympus makes sure that it is on top of the food chain. With the new E-PL6, photogs will benefit from its fast AF system  (similar feature found on the popular OM-D E-M5) which when combined with the Touch AF Shutter function allows you to capture images instantaneously by simply touching the LCD panel. The tiltable display has 170-degree swivel function allowing more flexibility and ease when taking self-portrait shots. Art Filters are also pre-loaded into the E-PL6′s system for numerous artistic combination.

The Olympus PEN Lite E-PL6 will debut in Japan next month in several colors including White, Black, Silver and Red. It will be offered in body-only, with lens kit or double zoom kit. Price, however, is still unannounced. Also, no announcement if the camera is bound for international markets – that includes Uncle Sam.

Samsung Galaxy Camera 2 (S4 Zoom) To Release Next Month

South Korean tech giant Samsung might be releasing its first camera phone that goes by the name Galaxy S4 Zoom. Leaked details point that the handset (with alleged model number SM-C1010 or SM-C101) will make its way to the smartphone market anytime soon.

There are rumors going around that this is the sequel to the Samsung Galaxy Camera released last year. The camera is powered by Android OS with huge 4.8-inch touchscreen display and 21x zoom feature. The camera had flaws which Sammy probably wants to rectify with the S4 Zoom.

Online information confirms that the Galaxy S4 Zoom will be having a 4.3-inch touchscreen panel with qHD AMOLED display. It will be powered by the latest Android Jelly Bean OS and Samsung’s own TouchWiz Nature UX interface along with dual-core/quad-core processor, 8GB internal storage, microSD support up to 64GB, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi and built-in A-GPS. Of course, what sets it apart from other phone models is its powerful 16 megapixel camera with 10x zoom (previously said to be 21x). It will be offered in either black or white colors.

More details will be divulged on the forthcoming Galaxy Camera 2 as we near its release date around June or July of this year. No price details were mentioned but considering its specs, there’s a possibility that Samsung will offer this handset at an affordable price – probably less than its Galaxy S IV flagship. Amazon Smartphones To Release With 3D Support Soon

Aside from releasing its own tablet line online retail giant Amazon is also eyeing on the smartphone industry. Rumor has it that the internet company is currently working on two handsets, one of which is said to equip 3D screen capability.

The latest Amazon scuttlebutt describes the new smartphone utilizing a glasses-free 3D technology. In addition, a retina-tracking system will be included in the handset allowing users to navigate by only using their eyes. If you could remember, this eye-scrolling technology was previously rumored on the Galaxy S IV. Will Amazon be the first to launch a handset that supports it?

Amazon has yet to comment on these smartphone rumors but it is good to note that the company had confirmed that indeed it has plans to expand its hardware offerings; aiming to reach new heights above its Kindle slates. In fact, the company has been reported to be working on the smartphone concept since 2010 under Project A, B, C and D or collectively known as the “Alphabet Projects”.

Meanwhile, aside from its 3D phone project Amazon is rumored to offer a a set-top box and an audio-only streaming device. We will certainly hear more about Amazon’s upcoming devices in the following months. Stay tuned.
