Grid 2: New Multiplayer Details Before Release

Codemasters has confirmed that selected multiplayer features of GRID 2 will be available through live-streaming on the game’s Twitch channel. Likewise, the game’s full video can be viewed a little later on YouTube.

The developers of GRID 2 have expressed that the game’s multiplayer campaign is a totally separate experience to its single-player mode. For one thing, the game starts with a garage filled with starter cars. Players can level up with XP and they can also purchase new cars using the money they earned from playing in tough 12-player game events.

Online modes of the game include Time Attack, Face Off, Checkpoint, Touge, Drift, and Endurance. Players can also be flooded with weekly updates on global challenge events through RaceNet which include challenges such as Power Lap and Overtake.

One interesting feature is when players get the chance to have a weekly rival coming from any location worldwide through a matchmaking scheme. Whether the opponent is online or offline during game play, users can still earn rewards by crushing their opponent’s best times. However, personally hand-picking of rivals is also possible.

GRID 2 is a racing game which is scheduled to be released on May 28, 2013 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Microsoft Windows. It has already been available for pre-order since March 6th.

2014 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor Gets Teased, Still No Release

The 2014 F-150 SVT Raptor is Ford’s latest addition to its truck line and a special edition because of its “unique touches” compared to the regular edition. These include interior upgrades and color variants, said to be Tuxedo Black Metallic and Ruby Red Metallic. Power comes in 411 HP and 434lb ft of torque courtesy of a 6.2-liter V8 engine and 4-wheel-drive with electronic shifting. It has a Torsen limited-slip differential, a 6-speed auto transmission, SelecShift Automatic feature and a tow and haul mode.

The Raptor truck began hitting the wild in 2009 and had been regularly updated since then. Console top finish panel, Brick Red seat bolsters, panel appliqué accents and cloth honeycomb highlights are the known interior upgrades among others. In general, the upgrade pertains only to the inside cosmetic leaving the mechanical parts intact and untouched including beadlock-capable wheels and Fox Racing Shox dampers.

Raptors are off-road pickup truck considered to be high-performing and uncompromising in terms of speed and transmission technology. Although it is slated for release this coming fall, the F-150 Raptor comes with dearth of information on other specs, the price, and the actual release date. The Special Edition Raptor seems to be concentrated more on the luxury aspect rather than the power aspect but nevertheless it’s indeed a premium truck.

iPad 5 Production Delayed, May Release Until Q3 (Rumor)

Reports from various sources have been saying that the fifth generation iPad from Apple will begin production around July or August as opposed to rumors saying that the iPad 5 would be launching ahead of the iPhone 5S.  The latter is believed by supply chain sources and industry analysts to be unveiled in June.

During the first quarter of the year, several past announcements on the iPad had already been made.  Early rumors had suggested that the iPad launch will be scheduled as early as April. Traditionally, Apple’s timeframe when it comes to launching its iPad is usually during the year’s first few months.  Last year, Apple has launched two iPads.  One was in March while the other was in November.  This only shows that tradition or not, Apple definitely has the last word when launching its products.

The upcoming iPad is said to be ‘thinner and lighter’ than the current full-sized iPad in the market today.  Moreover, it’s believed to follow suit the iPad mini’s thin-bezel feature.

The 9.7-inch iPad 5 is projected to have an October release which is just in time after its volume production commences in July – August 2013.  The display is said to be supplied by Sharp and LG Display while the touch panel technology will be handled by TPK.  Lastly, the iPad’s ITO thin film will be supplied by Teijin and Nitto Denko.
