Codemasters has confirmed that selected multiplayer features of GRID 2 will be available through live-streaming on the game’s Twitch channel. Likewise, the game’s full video can be viewed a little later on YouTube.

The developers of GRID 2 have expressed that the game’s multiplayer campaign is a totally separate experience to its single-player mode. For one thing, the game starts with a garage filled with starter cars. Players can level up with XP and they can also purchase new cars using the money they earned from playing in tough 12-player game events.
Online modes of the game include Time Attack, Face Off, Checkpoint, Touge, Drift, and Endurance. Players can also be flooded with weekly updates on global challenge events through RaceNet which include challenges such as Power Lap and Overtake.
One interesting feature is when players get the chance to have a weekly rival coming from any location worldwide through a matchmaking scheme. Whether the opponent is online or offline during game play, users can still earn rewards by crushing their opponent’s best times. However, personally hand-picking of rivals is also possible.
GRID 2 is a racing game which is scheduled to be released on May 28, 2013 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Microsoft Windows. It has already been available for pre-order since March 6th.
