It was only just last month when Toshiba announced that their Tecra laptop ensemble will receive the Intel Ivy Bridge set. With that, the R940 and the R950 gets packed with fingerprint readers and the Smart Client Manager for the small business groups out there. On the other hand, the company has also released new models with same names, R940 & R950, but at a lower cost. Unfortunately, in order to still keep the business running, the new models will not have the pricey features like fingerprint readers and the like.

If you prefer the Tecra R940 then you will get a 14-inch display which may be configured with a third-gen Intel CPU. You may also opt to have the AMD dedicated graphics and the option to 16GB of RAM. On the other hand, you may want to have the 15.6-inch R950 then you will get a 15.6-inch display which can also have a 320GB hard drive or up to 512 GB SDDs. Both laptops utilized reinforced fiberglass with Honeycomb Rib structure for a more durable and lightweight chassis.
In case you have any plans of buying these devices then you need to take note that they are only available at ToshibaDirect. The R940 sells at $ 600 to a start while the R950 also at $ 600 base price.
