Aside from the teased Lumia 925 (“Catwalk”), Nokia might also release a true EOS handset with similarly huge camera sensor as the 808 PureView.

Rumors abound that the Nokia EOS smartphone will have some similarities with the Lumia 920 including the latter’s 4.5-inch touchscreen panel and 1280 x 768 screen resolution. However, the EOS model would be tapered at each end making it look slimmer. It is also said to be much lighter than the 920.

If you haven’t noticed, the Finnish phone maker has been focusing on improving its camera tech, and audio spec of its new smartphones. That said, the EOS allegedly would possess a huge camera sensor; but whether or not it is similar with 808′s 41 megapixel snapper remains a mystery.

Another feature on this rumored Nokia handset is the camera app called “Nokia Pro Camera”. The leaked information goes on to say that it would allow users to control manual focus. In addition, the EOS will have a lens cover that automatically opens once you start the camera app; plus it will have smaller-sized flash and lens compared to the 808 PureView.

It’s difficult to say whether the EOS phone will beat the 920. Perhaps, in terms of camera specs and overall built, the EOS gets the upper hand; however it’s hard to judge while other hardware specs are missing. No launch details for the handset but Nokia teased a new device scheduled this summer, so we could probably hear new updates come July or August.

Nokia Lumia 925: Official Price and US Release Later

The 8.8mm Lumia 925 has the same dual-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor of 1.5GHz, a RAM of 1GB and OIS camera of 8.7 MP found in the Lumia 920. However, it’s definitely lighter by almost 50 grams. The phone’s battery is 2,000mAh which can perform wireless charging as long as you purchase an accessory cover. These covers come in more interesting shades such as yellow, red, black and white.

Other features of the Lumia 925 include AMOLED screen of 4.5 inches Gorilla Glass 2 with resolution of 1280 x 768, storage of 16GB, ClearBlack tech and high brightness mode. It has an ultra-sensitive touchscreen which allows you to easily manipulate the apps even when you’re wearing gloves.

Nokia has continued to enhance its camera technology in the Lumia 925 with the Smart Cam. It is an entirely new app that works hand in hand with the tangible camera button. The app has the ability to take 10 images in a single burst which users can enjoy in several various ways. One of these is the Best Shot which sorts the winning photo based on algorithmic method. Another is the Action Shot wherein several images of a locomotive subject are combined and made into a stop-motion single image. Lastly, there’s Motion Focus which gives still subjects the illusion that they’re moving with a simple motion blur.

While the handset’s predecessors are built with the five-lens Carl Zeiss feature, Nokia has decided to add a sixth element to its latest flagship in order to improve image sharpness. This is especially achieved with the help of the optical image stabilization.

The Lumia 925 will be launching in China and some parts of Europe this coming June. It will also land in US shores under the T-Mobile carrier. While T-Mobile hasn’t disclosed yet on pricing and release date details, rumors have it that the phone will bear the $ 609 price tag.
