Lenovo P780 ‘Kobe Bryant’ Phone Heading To China
It seems Kobe Bryant will continually stash heaps of cash even while staying off court for months after tearing his Achilles tendon. The NBA star was seen on this recent Lenovo commercial endorsing the latest P780 smartphone.

There is nothing spectacular about the commercial other than Kobe showing his “moves” with the ball and holding the phone up. What piqued our interest, however, is the phone’s technical attributes. The P780 presents significant upgrades from the popular IdeaPhone P770 by having a larger display and improved battery unit.
The “Kobe Bryant” phone will have a huge 5-inch, 720p touchscreen (bigger than the P770′s 4.5-inch panel), quad-core MT6589 processor, 1GB RAM, dual-SIM support, 8MP rear camera support, WiFi, Bluetooth, latest Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) OS and 4000mAh battery (larger than the 3500mAh unit of P770).
In addition, the Lenovo P780 gets a redesigned chassis to match the specs under the hood and features the “super sensitive touch” technology that supports non-capacitive stylus input similar to Lumia 820 and Ascend Mate.
Lenovo has yet to announce the price tag for this handset but many were expecting to see the P780 in China before the end of this month. No word, however, if the handset will land in Uncle Sam and other countries. In the meantime, you can watch the video below to see the rest of the ad campaign.

Lenovo Thinkpad T431S Ultrabook: Price and Release Confirmed Next Month
After 18 months of planning, brainstorming, and development, Lenovo has finally unveiled its redesigned ThinkPad T431S ultrabook model which boasts of a design that is sexier, sleeker, and more understated. The China-based tech manufacturer has involved several dozens of departments all over the world to make the prototypes of the new ThinkPad available in the hands of those who come from every aspect of the society and even those who belong to various cultures. They observed and gathered feedback which they used as a guide in putting away and reinventing the final product. The months of research spent were not just meant to enhance a single machine but also to apply their findings all throughout the whole range. This means that future siblings and cousins of the device will bear similar distinctive marks.

The team behind the research explained that what they did is not the usual research where one would make a physical check on those essentials that are needed in a notebook. It was more like getting to know better their users and understanding their behavior. Through careful observation, the result would then show in the design process.
The new 14-inch Thinkpad T431S ultrabook features a matte display of 1600 x 900 with brightness measuring at 250 nits, Intel HD graphics which is fully integrated, front webcam of 720p, RAM of 4GB which can be upgraded by as much as 12GB, three-cell sealed battery of 47WHr, keyboard which has an optional backlit feature, Bluetooth 4.0, and connectivity of WiFI and WWAN. It measures at 13.03 x 8.89 x 0.8 inches and weighs at 3.6 pounds.
Around 100 people became involved in reinventing the ThinkPad iteration wherein they were ‘shadowed’ by the company to see their actual usage of the machine. The approach is totally different from just getting a few participants and paying them for filling out a form to know what their ideal laptop is. Only a small portion of the participants were original ThinkPad users while the rest were either new users of consumer technology or they were apathetic to the ThinkPad. After all, it has always been said that one’s strongest enemy gives the most authentic revelations.
Lenovo’s Thinkpad T431S ultrabook will be hitting the store shelves in April and will be priced at $ 949.
