Gigabyte has launched a new pair of tablets in the recently held Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, named as S1185 and S1082. These two new products of Gigabyte have been showcased in the tech conference and have surprisingly drew great attention from many consumers as they have incorporated the newest “tiles” technology of Windows 8.

The first one is the S1185, in which the company has stated as their frontrunner product for this year. With an LED touchscreen measuring 11.6 inches and has a 1,920 x 1,080 pixels resolution, and a full high definition IPS core display, the S1185 has become a pretty big touchscreen tablet that is perfect for apps multitasking. Its processor is an Intel Core CPU and is matched up with 8GB RAM, wherein the RAM slots itself can be accessible to the user. For storage and connectivity, Gigabyte’s S1185 has an expandable memory up to 256 GB through its microSD card reader, and a slot for SIM card usage for 3.5G WWAN.

The next one is the S1082. Just like the S1185, Gigabyte’s S1082 is also a Windows 8 tablet that runs in a Celeron processor with a speed of 1.1GHz and has 8GB RAM. Its core display is Intel HD Graphics and has an optional DVD docking slot. The company has come up with optional hard disks for this tablet – 320 GB or 500 GB, but that will be additional cost to the package.
Both products of Gigabyte – the S1185 and S1082, have USB 2.0 ports, earphone jacks, GB Ethernet, VGA outputs and Bluetooth and WiFi capabilities. The bigger s1185 goes on sale for $ 1000 this March while its S1082 sibling will set you back $ 649 when it ships next month.
