The budget oriented folks will definitely settle for greater deals of course. And often, online stores offer lesser prices than brick-and-mortar retailers. That’s a problem for retailers like Target, as it doesn’t only have to match up fellow B&M rivals but also need to measure up to online retailers like Amazon.

Target will be a making a move to match the prices of Amazon, and it has been said to last all year round. Price-match to Amazon does not actually sound new as it has already been done by Best Buy but only during the holiday shopping season of last year.

Customers of Target will have the opportunity to have an item from the shop at a lower price. In case that the customer finds the identical item with a lesser price in the succeeding weeks from a printed ad of a local competitor, Target will match the price. The retailer will also  match the price in case that the customer finds the same item for lesser price within seven days on Target’s website or in any website of competitors like Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart and Toys R Us. The requirements to avail from such program is the original receipt from Target and the proof showing competitor’s price.

Obviously, this is good news for folks who are trying to squeeze all the savings they can get during the busiest shopping day of the year on Black Friday. As we all know, Amazon always takes the lead when it comes to online shopping sales. With this new price-match competition, Target might be an eye-candy for dealhunters even before the holiday kicks in.

Target have not yet announced what exact date will the program take effect in their stores but it should arrive on Q1.
