Black Ops 2 Uprising DLC With Mob of the Dead Zombies

Activision and Treyarch might be keeping mum about any upcoming Black Ops 2 DLC, but partner retailers apparently have no qualms about keeping certain information quiet. A photo allegedly taken at Best Buy and posted on Twitter shows a Black Ops 2 Uprising poster, which as good as confirmed that the DLC is on its way.

The previous Black Ops 2 DLC gave 5 extra maps as well as introduced a new weapon and gaming mode. So far, there’s nothing to suggest that the Uprising DLC will offer more than the maps seen in the poster. Still, fans of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 are undoubtedly stoked at all the information that has been shared about the new downloadable pack.

It’s now given that the next DLC will be called Black Ops 2 Uprising and that it will have several new maps. The 4 multiplayer ones are called Encore, Magma, Studio and Vertigo while the new map for the zombie mode is called Mob of the Dead. There’s no word yet on what gamers can expect regarding the storyline for the new maps, but there are rumors that the zombie map is set inside Alcatraz while Vertigo is set on a high-rise building’s rooftop.

Black Ops 2 Uprising is scheduled to be released on April 16 on the Xbox 360 and might hit PC and PS3 consoles one month later. The newest Black Ops 2 pack is allegedly priced at $ 15 apiece.

Black Ops 3 On PS4 & Xbox 720 With Next-Gen Graphics

If there’s one word that’s been pinging around this year’s Game Developers Conference, it’s photorealism. Kojima’s antics might have generated some buzz and entertainment, but his company is hardly the only one working on a photorealistic game engine. Activision has also been working on its next-generation console gaming engine and Jorge Jimenez, the company’s technical director, was only too happy to show it off.

During a discussion organized by the GDC, Activision’s artists showed off a panel of images of what they claim their new gaming engine will be able to produce. Touted as the result of a year of hard work, Activision’s Jimenez talked about how they are very close to creating the ultimate photorealistic images, with realistic looking eyebrows, hair and teeth and facial expressions with more impact due to real emotions coming out.

Of course, since the company doing the presentation is Activision and the panel of images show a soldier, speculations that this is what the next Call of Duty will look like have started to fly. Activision head honchos have already admitted that they will be releasing a Call of Duty game before the year ends, but declined to discuss what the game will be or what to expect from the next Call of Duty. Many believe that the smart move for Activision here is to release Black Ops 3 as Black Ops 2’s 1 billion run on its first 15 days have proven the franchise’s mettle. Anyway, it will be awesome to see the next Call of Duty running on next-gen consoles like the PS 4 and the Xbox 720, whether it’s Modern Warfare or Black Ops 3.

Black Ops 2 Zombies: Mob of the Dead DLC Incoming

You’ve got to hand it to those intrepid gaming sleuths; they always manage to uncover new information about their beloved games. One Call of Duty community member recently noticed new information on the game’s official site which implied that the game’s new DLC will be called “Uprising.” Further research unveiled more gems like the latest DLC having a new zombie escapade and 2 new maps.

It has been rumoured that Uprising would have lesser content than the previously released Revolution which boasted of a DLC weapon, four multiplayer maps plus a new zombie mode and zombie map. Uprising, on the other hand, is said to only have one zombie map- the “Mob of the Dead.” The first Black Ops game also had a similar sounding map called “Call of the Dead” that showcased celebrities who turned into zombies. “Mob of the Dead” could be its follow-up, maybe with more celebrity zombies this time around. The new DLC is touted to also have two multiplayer maps, the Studio and Vertigo.

Fans of the game would probably recall that Vertigo was a map from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. However, there’s no news about what this map and the Vertigo map is about. But most Call of Duty gamers would attest that zombies are all the range these days, whether it’s in movies, TV shows or shooter games so it’s no small wonder why Treyarch has decided to prioritize zombies than multiplayer features in the upcoming DLC. There’s no word yet on when this alleged Black Ops 2 DLC will be coming, but hopefully it will happen soon.
