The Galaxy S4 flagship device is having a dust and water resistant counterpart and is said to bear the “Active” moniker. Though at first glance the GS4 Active looks identical to its predecessor, it actually has several added new features which can be noticed through serious and thorough scrutiny.

Officially dubbed as Samsung I9295 Galaxy S4 Active, the device features a quad-core processor of 1.9GHz that comes with a GPU of Adreno 320. This means it has a chipset of Snapdragon 600. While the screen size (5.0 inch) and resolution (1080p) are said to be similar with the Galaxy S4’s, it’s not clear whether it belongs to the Super AMOLED variety or not. Moreover, the device is said to have a pixel density of 480ppi.

Camera buffs would also be glad to know that the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active has a rear camera of 8MP built-in which is a downgrade version of the Galaxy S4’s 13MP shutter. It’s covered with a metallic cache and laid with bolts on the rear. You can also find three hardware buttons embedded beneath the screen.

There’s no information yet on the phone’s pricing, partner carrier, and exact date of release. The device has been recently flaunted in Croatia which could mean that a formal announcement may be given real soon.

There has been a deluge of rumors about the release of Gran Turismo 6 last week and the homepage of Sony France all but confirmed them, much to the delight of GT fans worldwide.

According to invitations that were sent out, Sony will be holding a grand media event on May 15 at the renowned Silverstone Circuit. It’s been three years since the last Gran Turismo game was released, add that to the fact that the game is celebrating its 15th anniversary and you’ve got the makings for a very special unveiling. Gran Turismo made its debut on December 1997. Since then, it became one of the most popular gaming franchises around the world and has sold over 68 million copies.

Aside from news about Gran Turismo 6, its also been reported that the company will have news about the GT Academy line. Hopefully, the event will also shed line on the rumors on whether the game will be released on the PS4 or if a new title is being developed for the console. There was a little confusion earlier when a European website mentioned that GT 6 will be released on both the PS3 and the PS4, raising the expectations of gamers that the new racing game will be a cross-platform release. However, Sony top brass Michael Denny clarified that Gran Turismo 6 will be released on the PS3 and not on the company’s next-gen console.
