When the Magenta Network launched the iPhone 5 last month, customers could purchase it for a $ 100 down payment, with 24 monthly payments of $ 20 to cover the full cost of the device. However, T-Mobile has now ended that introductory offer, and has raised the down payment to $ 150, with the same monthly payments.

TmoNews, via MacRumors:

Ah T-Mobile, I knew your introductory pricing of $ 99 down payment wasn’t going to last. As of today, T-Mobile will ask well-qualified customers to drop $ 149 as their down payment instead of $ 99 as has been the case since the April 12th launch. I don’t recall anyone or anywhere telling me the $ 99 price was only good for one month, but in hindsight I should have seen the writing on the wall.

The 32GB and 64GB iPhone 5 models have also seen a $ 50 price increase. Purchasing a 16GB iPhone 5 via T-Mobile’s plan is still slightly cheaper than buying an unlocked iPhone from Apple, which is $ 650, with no monthly payment option.

T-Mobile will continue to accept trade-ins of current iPhones to shrink the required down payment. The company has sold more than 500,000 iPhones in less than a month after launch.

Velocity Micro Cruz T507 / T510 ICS Tablets: Price and Release At $150 Only

There are more brands in the tablet market than Apple, Samsung, Asus and HP, you just don’t know the others because they’re not the companies you tend to look to for high-end gadgets. However, that doesn’t mean they aren’t around. In fact, some of them offer decent specs for people who cant spend too much on a single gadget. One of these companies is called Velocity Micro, and it’s reserved a booth for two new tablets of its Cruz line at the CES 2012. They’re called the Cruz T507, and T510.

T507 velocity cruz Velocity Micro Cruz T507 / T510 ICS Tablets: Price and Release At $ 150 Only

Here’s a list of known specs for each tablet for easier viewing:

Cruz T507:

  • 7-inch (800 x 400 resolution) touchscreen display
  • Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) OS
  • 1.2 GHz Cortex A8 processor
  • 512MB DDR3 RAM
  • 8GB storage
  • VGA front-facing camera
  • HDMI port
  • access to Amazon appstore

Cruz T510:

  • 9.7-inch (1024 x 768 resolution) touchscreen display
  • Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich)
  • HDMI port
  • 8GB storage
  • 1.2 GHz Cortex A8 processor
  • VGA rear and front-facing cameras
  • Access to Amazon appstore instead of Android Market

Both the Velocity Micro Cruz T507 and T510 are very similar, but side-by-side, it’s easy to differentiate on tablet from the other. However, the differences seem to end with the size of the tablets and the number of cameras on each. Hopefully Velocity Micro has more about these tablets aside from the size and camera factors, otherwise buyers may be more inclined to go for the cheaper of the two.

Speaking of price, the T507 is expected to retail for $ 150, but the T510′s price is still up in the air. Velocity Micro hints that it wont be higher than $ 250, but the exact amount is yet to be determined when both tablets come out in the first quarter of this year.
