Tablet users are getting ready for a major tablet showdown as two companies have already confirmed their attendance in a race to win the title of being the ultimate bestselling tablet. While Apple and Amazon already have a solid following in their own right, an air of excitement still lingers as fans struggle to either keep their loyalty or make that big switch.
Bear in mind that Apple, following the adage “better late than never,” is launching the new iPad mini in a market already swarmed with affordable tablets such as Amazon’s Kindle Fire. Incidentally, Amazon is not taking the back seat yet as it gears up for the launching of Kindle Fire 2.
According to a source from TechRadar, Amazon is releasing three versions of Kindle Fire 2 such as the 7-inch, 8.9-inch, and 10-inch. The new version will have a metal casing, a chrome-look “rib” on the back, and it will be thinner than the first version of iPad. Resolution is at 1280 x 800. Other features include a microUSB port, an anticipated HDMI-out port, and a front camera for the 10-inch model. It is expected to have the same price tag of $ 199 as its predecessor.
The iPad Mini is said to have a 7.85-inch display with a resolution of 1024 x 768. It is rumored to have a rear camera and a Facetime Camera. Moreover, it will have an extra upper-back opening, a microphone opening, and a smaller dock connector. Pricing is set within the range of $ 249 to $ 299.
