Leaked information regarding Lenovo’s upcoming Windows 8 tablet was found to be circulating in the web. The new slate which is dubbed as The Windows 8 ThinkPad Tablet 2 is positioned to compete head-to-head with Apple’s new iPad.
Registered dimension of Lenovo’s slate is 262.6 x 164 x 9.8 mm. Being that thin, it weighs around 650 grams max. It packs a 10.1-inch IPS screen that has LED backlight and anti-glare. Display gives a screen resolution of 1366×768 with 720p HD capability. Moreover, the display is able to support multi-touch (10 fingers). As for its OS, of course it comes preloaded with Windows 8 (32-bit). The processor tasked to run things is Intel’s Cloverview Dual Core Atom CPU that has the 32 nm architecture. As for RAM, it has 2GB LPDD2 SDRAM. Graphics is provided by Intel’s Integrated HD SGX545 GFx. Storing data is not a problem as there is 64GB (e-MMC) of space. It comes with a pair of cameras with the front-facing one being 2 megapixels (720p HD Webcam) while the rear-facing is 8 megapixels that has auto focus, flash, LED and motion JPG. As for connectivity, it has a variety of ports – mini HDMI, microSD slot, USB 2.0, docking connector and 3.5 mm Combo Mic. Sensors present include GPS, magnetometer (compass), ambient light sensor, proximity, vibrator and sensor hub. It’s NFC-enabled and battery gives 10 hours of good usage.
