Italian company Liquid TV unveils its latest innovation, the SmartKey. It is a new pocket-size dongle that guarantees smart TV applications including web access and Android Ice Cream platform to any HDMI-equipped TV sets.

The dongle’s specs include a 512MB of random access memory (RAM), a microSDHC memory card slot from 4GB to 32GB, a 4GB flash storage, a 400MP GPU and a 1 GHz ARM Cortex A9 Processor.
How does this device work? The user needs to connect the dongle to the HDMI port of a standard normal television (TV). By doing this, the regular TV is converted into a Smart TV. This allows the user to turn his TV into a larger tablet running on Android 4.0, common on smartphones. Users are allowed to download applications to watch videos, play games, watch the news, connect to social networking sites such as Facebook or Twitter or simply surf the web.
Some other accessories such as video cameras can be connected to make and receive video calls. Other accessories for the SmartKey dongle include a remote control and a built-in QWERTY hardware keyboard.
The SmartKey TV will be released in July and will be offered in two versions: the SmartKey TV Standard package and the SmartKey TV Advanced package. The former package sells the basic model at €99 or around $ 124 while the latter sells the basic model along with a remote control at €199 or about $ 150.
