Both a gaming laptop and an original Asus product, the G75VW is the world’s first notebook to feature Broadcom 802.11ac WiFi. It’s equally packed with a processor of Ivy Bridge Core i7, NVIDIA GTX 670M and a huge LCD of 17.3 inches with a resolution of 1920 x 1080.
Adorned with an impressive array of ports, the 0.7 x 16.3 x 12.6 inches G75VW is clad with ports for: microphone and headphone; VGA, HDMI, and Thunderbolt for external monitor output; Ethernet for complementing its WiFi capability of 802.11ac; 3 in 1 card reader; S/PDIF to produce digital audio; and three USB 3.0. The battery is an eight-cell 74Wh type which can be enough to meet the needed battery life. Weighing at 10 pounds, the G75VW may not be that easy to be carried around though.
It looks attractive enough with its gray color and logo-filled lid which bears wordings such as Asus and Republic of Gamers. The backlight produces a good amount of flash and the exhaust port on the rear keeps hot air at a distance.
The 802.11ac specification enables gigabit-speed wireless connections. A sole 5GHz specification, 802.11 ac utilizes bigger channels and more spatial streaming to produce more amount of workyou’re your devices.
The WiFi-equipped Asus G75VW notebook supports wireless throughput of a total of 900Mbps. It requires a well-equipped router such as the ASUS RT-AC66U. Pricing and availability are yet to be announced.
