Assassin’s Creed is a game franchise created by Ubisoft. Presently, the franchise has 4 main series games, the latest of which is Assassin’s Creed: Revelations.

The story of Assassin’s Creed revolves around the three main characters of Desmond Miles, Altair ibn La-Ahad, and Ezio Auditore da Firenze. The gameplay is all about the experience of Desmond Miles, who came from a line of assassins, as he plays the other two characters of Altair and Ezio using Animus. Animus is a device used by Desmond to look into the memories of his ancestors. Stealth missions are played in old time settings, such as the Renaissance Period.
The last installment of the franchise, titled “Assassin’s Creed: Revelations” was released in the last quarter of 2011. Fresh from the release of the this fourth installment, CEO Yves Guillemot already made comments on what to expect with the series this year. According to the CEDO, there will be a “major” new entry. This was followed by rumors that the next setting of Assassin’s Creed is Egypt. An online quiz was also conducted to ask fans for their preference on the next installment. Allegedly, the survey resulted to various historical periods, such as Medieval China, the American Revolution, and Feudal Japan.
The latest rumor circulating is that the latest Assassin’s Creed will have a new protagonist and an American Revolution setting. This setting can give encounters with George Washington and battles with British Colonists. There were also hints as to the veracity of the rumors. Some said that in the VLC of the Brotherhood’s ‘Da Vinci Disappearance’ DLC, players were given coordinates to New York. In the Revelation installment, there was a featured globe seen over the United States.
The American Revolution setting remains a rumor until an official word is issued , which fans can expect on March 31, 2012.
